Basket Iraca Fruit

These baskets are luxurious handcrafted home decor pieces made with natural fibres of Iraca, a tropical palm best known for the famous Panama Hat. 

Handmade by a talented group of women artisans in a village, South of Colombia using a traditional weaving manufacture technique that their mothers passed on to them through generations.  This technique is also part of their cultural heritage, received from their indigenous ancestors.

The leaves of the palm are collected, squeezed, boiled and set to dry outside to obtain fine strips used to create every piece. The natural color strips are dyed with organic tints to create unique and timeless designs.
