Made with natura fibers of Iraca, a tropical palm best known for the famous Panama Hat, these placemats are luxurious hancrafted home decor pieces.
Our placemats are handmade by a talented group of women artisans at a village, South of Colombia. They used a traditional weaving manufacture technique that have been passed on to them by their mothers through generations. This technique is also, part of their cultural heritage, received from their indigenous ancestors.
The leaves of the palm are collected, squeezed, boiled and set to dry outside to obtaing fine strips used to create every piece. When needed, the strips are natural dyed.
